Grateful Dead 4/25/1977 Capitol Theater - Passaic, NJ (All AUDIO) Source: AUD ( Sony 3-head cassette deck (TC-K615S) > 10 band equalizer> CoolEdit96> GoldWave > CD) Taper: Teddy "Good Bear" Notes: 1) Sony 3-head cassette deck (TC-K615S) > 10 band equalizer, ""eq"". The ""eq"" settings: 31Hz 62Hz 125Hz 250Hz 500Hz 1kHz 2kHz 4kHz 8kHz 16kHz L:13db 13db 13db 13db 13db 13db 12db 11db 10db 9db R:13db 13db 13db 13db 13db 12db 10db 10db 10db 9db 2) > My computer using ""CoolEdit96"". 3) ""CoolEdit96"" noise reduction, just to remove some of the hiss & a little background noise, (after ""Get Noise Profile from Selection""). Noise Reduction Level = 7 FTP size = 8192 Number of statistical snapshots in profile = 96 Precision Factor = 10 Smoothing Amount = 1 Transition With = 0 db 4) In ""GoldWave"" I echoed as follows: Delay(s) = 0.100 Volume (%) = 20 Reverb = unchecked 5) Then I used ""GoldWave's Dynamics"" for amplitude of the dynamic range. I used the preset of ""Soft Clip"" which maintains the nice rounded waveform curve from top to bottom. 6) And finally I normalized, lowered and raised the volume (around 0.750db) where needed so the waveform was more uniform. The entire process takes days for just one show. This seems to give the best results. Their are hundreds or more combinations of these settings, but I think the above works best on 4/25 ""GoodBear AUD #1 Tree"" http://www.goodbear.com/audtree1.htmlArt Link: http://www.gdcdcovers.com/annex.html gd1977-04-25.jpg
